(Walnut Ridge, Ark.)- Walnut Ridge standout Alivia Hackworth has signed a letter of intent to play softball for the Lady Eagles next season. Hackworth is a 2010 graduate of Walnut Ridge High School. During high school Hackworth was All-Conference while notching a .500 batting average and 25 stolen bases this past season. In addition to softball Hackworth participated in tennis and basketball. She is the daughter of Jeff and Kelly Rider of Walnut Ridge and Steve Hackworth of Pocahontas. Taking part in the signing were Jeff and Kelly Rider, Walnut Ridge coaches Joe Fisher and Jacob Kersey, and head Williams Baptist softball coach Eric Newell. Williams is a four-year, liberal arts college in Walnut Ridge. The Eagles compete in the American Midwest Conference of the NAIA.
