Baseball Camp, Showcase Dates Set at WBC


The Williams Baptist College baseball team has announced dates for two of its annual summer events. The WBC Baseball Showcase will take place on May 22nd, and the baseball camp for boys will be held June 7-10.

The 2nd annual Baseball Showcase, which gives local players a chance to try out for college and professional scouts, runs from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on May 22nd. Only the first 48 applicants will be accepted. The cost is $100, which includes lunch, a t-shirt and listing on a baseball recruiting website.

The baseball camps for boys will be divided by age groups into morning and afternoon sessions June 7-10. Boys who are 8-12 years old will meet from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon each day, while boys 13-18 years old will have camp from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.

The cost of the camp is $50 for the week, and it includes instruction in hitting, base running, fielding, position play, pitching and strategy. Participants need to bring a bat and glove, and they should wear baseball pants.
