Big Weekend Ahead for WBC Sports
Williams Baptist College has a busy weekend in the arena of athletics, with three baseball games and a Lady Eagles basketball game in Walnut Ridge, Ark.

The WBC Eagles baseball team is hosting McKendree University in a three-game set beginning at 1 p.m. on Friday. Saturday will be a doubleheader beginning at 12 p.m. The Eagles play at Shell Field, and have plenty of room on their new Barton’s Family Deck for fans.
Also, Saturday will be the final regular season home basketball game for six Lady Eagles. WBC hosts Stephens College at 2 p.m. in its American Midwest Conference regular season finale. The six seniors being honored are Becky Caldwell, Briana Johnson, Olivia Morris, Jessica Shepard, Kim Sutterfield and Kala Tyus.
The Lady Eagles are also assured of hosting of at least one AMC Tournament game. They clinched a home tourney game Thursday night, winning 79-78 at Harris-Stowe State University. Depending on the outcome of Saturday’s conference games, Williams will be either a third or fourth seed, and it will host a first round tournament game against an opponent that is still to be determined.
The tournament contest will be played Wednesday, Feb. 29, at 7 p.m. in WBC’s Southerland-Mabee Center. The Lady Eagles’ record for the season is currently 15-9 overall and 8-5 in conference.
