Business Students Learn About WR Fro Yo Business
|Danny West, owner of Art & Culture Frozen Yogurt in Walnut Ridge, explains his business model to WBC students in Beatles Park.
Williams Baptist College business students had an uncommonly enjoyable field trip recently, as they learned about a new frozen yogurt business in Walnut Ridge. The students ate "fro yo" from Art & Culture as they heard presentations from local businessmen Danny West and Charles Snapp.
West opened Art & Culture this summer, next to Beatles Park in downtown Walnut Ridge. The business allows customers to choose their own flavors of frozen yogurt and toppings, and they then pay according to the weight of their creation.
The students began by getting yogurt and then heard a presentation on the business in Beatles Park.
West explained his decision to open the business and the development of his business plan.
Charles and Jackie Snapp, owners of the building where Art & Culture is located, have developed a program known as "Invest in Your Dreams," which allows business owners like West to make improvements to the property in exchange for reduced rent.
Charles Snapp talked to the students about the program. He said the goal is to improve the historic buildings in downtown Walnut Ridge while rebuilding the commercial base of the area.
Jackie Snapp is a 1996 graduate of WBC with a degree in business administration.
Art & Culture is located at 106 Abbey Road, formerly SW Second Street, in Walnut Ridge.
