Clarkson Awarded WBC Trustee Scholarship
Chelsea Clarkson, a senior at Calvary Christian High School in Forest City, has been awarded the Williams Baptist College Trustee Scholarship. Chelsea is the daughter of Tim and Jackie Clarkson of Wynne.
The WBC Trustee Scholarship is awarded to at least one applicant each year and covers tuition, room and board. This four-year scholarship is given to a freshman with a composite score of 30 or higher on the ACT and a minimum grade point average of 3.5.
Chelsea says she chose Williams because she was attracted to the community atmosphere of the college. “The school is close-knit, like I am used to and I like the Christian environment,” she stated. Chelsea hopes to one day become an occupational therapist.
Andrew Watson, director of admissions at WBC, says he looks forward to having Chelsea on campus. “We are so excited to have Chelsea this fall and over the next four years. She is an excellent student who is very involved with her high school and local church and she embodies what Williams is looking for with the Trustee Scholarship,” Watson noted.
When asked what it felt like to be awarded such a distinguished scholarship, Chelsea responded that it was still hard to believe she was the one chosen for such an honor. The future collegiate added that she is most looking forward to the new and different experiences college will have to offer.
Williams is a four-year liberal arts college at Walnut Ridge.
