Corning, Marmaduke Advance to Semifinals

The 54th Annual WBC Tournament continued on Tuesday evening with two games being played. The Corning and Marmaduke girls captured victories to propel them into the semifinals of the tournament.

The fifth seeded Bobcats from Corning High School came into the evening as the underdog, but ended it by upsetting the fourth seeded Tigers from Maynard High School, 73-36. The win propels the Bobcats into the semifinals of the tournament where they will play the top seeded Greyhounds from Marmaduke High School. Marmaduke advanced by beating the ninth seeded Mustangs from Hoxie on Tuesday evening, 67-31. The semifinal matchup will be played Thursday, November 29 at 5 p.m.

4:00 p.m. - Girls: Southside (2) vs. Walnut Ridge (7)
5:20 p.m. - Boys: Pocahontas (4) vs. Riverside (5)

Final 67-31 - Girls: 67 Marmaduke (1) vs. 31 Hoxie (9)

The WBC Tournament is a high school invitational and runs through Saturday, Dec. 1. All games are played in WBC's Southerland-Mabee Center.
