Eagles Drop Road Game to Toppers
The Williams Baptist College basketball squad traveled to Blue Mountain, Miss., to play its first road game of the season. The result was a 71-64 victory by the Toppers of Blue Mountain College over the Eagles.
Williams was held to a season low 33 percent shooting from the field for the contest. The Eagles also turned the ball over 19 times. Each team collected 47 rebounds in the game.
Despite the loss, Kyle Harvey continues to star for the Eagles, as he scored 22 points and had 10 rebounds. He also notched a steal and blocked shot. Following him were Dewan Johnson with 13 points and Phillip Sykes with 11.
The loss dropped the Eagles record to 2-1 on the season. The team will return to action on Thursday, November 15, at 7:30 p.m. in Paragould, Ark., against Crowley's Ridge College.
Their next home contest will not be until Monday, November 19, against CRC. The game will be played at 7:30 in WBC's Southerland-Mabee Center.
