Eagles Go on the Road and Sweep Mustangs


The Williams Baptist College Lady Eagles jumped out of American Midwest Conference play and earned two victories over Central Baptist College on Tuesday afternoon. The volleyball doubleheader was played in Conway, Ark.

The first match finished 25-12, 25-21, 22-25, and 25-17. The Lady Eagles followed that up with a victory in three sets: 25-20, 25-20, and 25-16.

Freshman Kaillie Ralston compiled 19 kills in the matches, while freshman Harley Strayhorn contributed 18 kills. Strayhorn leads Williams with a total of 146 kills on the season.

Codie Lancaster added 35 assists in the matches, giving her 248 on the season.

The Lady Eagles' record now stands at 14-8 in 2012. They will jump back into AMC play on Saturday, October 13, when they travel to William Woods University to play a doubleheader beginning at 11:30 a.m.

Their next home action will be a doubleheader against AMC foe Harris-Stowe State University Tuesday, October 16, starting at 5 p.m.
