Eagles Split with Bethel
Williams Baptist College hosted the Wildcats from Bethel University in Walnut Ridge on Tuesday afternoon. The two teams split the doubleheader. Bethel is currently receiving votes in the NAIA top 25 baseball poll.

Game one was a back and forth contest, but the Eagles were able to score five runs in the bottom of the seventh to take the game 9-8.
Josh Brown got the start for WBC and threw five strong innings, allowing two hits and one run. He also struck out three Wildcat batters.
Williams batters totaled 13 hits for the contest. Aaron Jones went 2-for-3 with a triple and two runs scored. Also, Kendall Fay went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored. The walkoff single in the bottom of the seventh was hit by Tyler Williams. He found the hole between third and short for his lone RBI of the contest.
Game two was another close contest between the two teams. This time Bethel came out on top, winning 3-2.
Four Williams pitchers combined to go seven innings, giving up six hits, three runs, and one walk. These pitchers were Drew Tullos, Marcus Massey, Nathan Thomas and Dustin Crane.
The Eagles’ record now stands at 14-25 on the season. They will travel to Harris-Stowe State University this weekend to play four American Midwest Conference contests.
Their next home games will be a non-conference affair against Central Methodist University on April 24. The doubleheader will start at 1 p.m.
