Eloy Barela III/Baseball

Williams Baptist College has secured a commitment from Eloy Barela III to play baseball starting next year. Barela, who is from Houston, Tex., signed with the baseball Eagles in March.

The senior at C.E. King High School has a .280 batting average the past two seasons, as well as a .293 slugging percentage and an on-base percentage of .425. He was an honorable mention all-district selection his sophomore year.

Barela is the son of Eloy, Jr. and Lupe Barela of Houston.

Williams is a four-year, liberal arts college at Walnut Ridge. The baseball Eagles are coached by John Katrosh, and they compete in the American Midwest Conference of the NAIA
