Fresh Ideas, the company which provides food service at Williams Baptist College, has added to the stores of the Lawrence County Food Bank. The company donated 222 pounds of food, which it had committed to do as part of a competition at WBC.

The college recently completed its annual "Williams Weigh" competition, where teams compete by losing weight. Fresh Ideas committed to match the total weight lost by all teams with food for the food bank, resulting in the donation that it delivered Tuesday, May 3.

"We like to be a part of our local communities, and community service is one of the 12 values of our company," said Dennis Owens, Fresh Ideas chief operating officer. "We were very pleased to partner with Williams in providing these pounds of food to the food bank."

Rhonda Campbell, director of food services at Williams, noted, "Fresh Ideas felt it was very appropriate for us to be involved with the Williams Weigh competition like this. We were able to serve the community while making the contest more interesting."
