Hendrix Gets Second AMC Pitcher of the Week Nod
4/15/2010
For the second time in three weeks, Karisa Hendrix is the Pitcher of the Week in the American Midwest Conference. The Williams Baptist College freshman was honored for a big conference win over Columbia last week.
Hendrix held Columbia at bay in leading Williams to a 4-3 win in the first game of the twin bill between the two schools. She tossed a complete-game four-hitter, allowing just one earned run in the contest. She walked two batters but struck out 12 to set a new single-game strikeout record for the Eagles.
Hendrix, who was a standout at Highland High School, is from Cherokee Village, Ark. She is the daughter of Kevin and Michelle Hendrix.
The Lady Eagles are 26-9 overall this season. They are 10-4 in the AMC and currently tied for first place.
