Kala Tyus/Women's Hoops

Women’s basketball forward Kala Tyus is headed to Williams Baptist College. The Maury City, Tenn., native has signed her commitment to play for the Lady Eagles.

Tyus, 5'11", is transferring to Williams from Dyersburg State Community College. She will join DSCC teammates Bethany Oakley and Becky Caldwell, who have also signed with Williams this spring.

She is the daughter of Donald and June Tyus. Taking part in her signing at DSCC were her mother, who is also an assistant coach at Dyersburg State, DSCC head coach Rian Puckett, Williams head coach Carol Halford and WBC assistant coach Mike Chipman.

Williams is a four-year, liberal arts college at Walnut Ridge. The Lady Eagles compete in the American Midwest Conference of the NAIA.
