Lady Eagles Fall to Blue Mountain
The Williams Baptist College Lady Eagles went on the road for the first time on the young season and came away with their first defeat. They lost 77-62 to the Toppers of Blue Mountain College in Blue Mountain, Miss.
The Lady Eagles shot 45 percent from the field, but were unable to stop the hot shooting of BMC, as the Toppers shot 61 percent. Williams was also outrebounded 32 to 26.
One bright spot for Williams was its bench, where WBC had two players reach double figures. Whitney Mills led the Eagles with 11 points, followed by Chasity Hamilton with 10. Hamilton also added six assists in the contest.
The Lady Eagles made eight of their 15 3-point field goal attempts. Kimberly Wise made three of the four she took to finish with nine points.
The loss drops the team's early season record to 1-1. It will jump back on the court on Monday, November 12, to play Crowley's Ridge College at 6 p.m. The game will be played in Walnut Ridge at WBC's Southerland-Mabee Center.
