The win moves WBC to 14-7 on the season and 7-3 in the AMC.
The Lady Eagles put together one of their best outside shooting games of the season. Their first four buckets were all 3-point field goals, as they opened the game on a 12-4 run. For the night, they shot 55 percent from beyond the arc, making 11 of 20 shots.
“I thought we shot the ball extremely well tonight. The perimeter shooting was able to offset any mistakes we made in other areas,” said head coach Carol Halford.
Jessica Shepard led Williams with 18 points, making six of her seven 3-point field goal attempts. She also contributed with five rebounds. Becky Caldwell had her best all around game of the season, scoring 12 points, eight rebounds, six assists, and two steals. Kimberly Wise also reached double figures with 12 points.
Shepard said, “We have been working hard as a team to improve every day, and we need to continue doing that to get these results.”
The Lady Eagles have now won four games in a row, and eight out of their last ten. The win leaves them one half game out of first place in the AMC.
“We are pleased with where we are at right now, with a chance to finish in the top three of this conference,” said Halford.
WBC will host conference leader William Woods University on Thursday, February 16, at 5:30 p.m.
