Longhorn Commits to Lady Eagles

Coach Carol Halford and the Williams Baptist College Lady Eagle basketball team picked up a commitment on Wednesday from Michaela Thompson.

Thompson is a standout player from Viola, Ark., and will be graduating from Viola High School in May.  She signed her commitment during a ceremony at VHS.  She has played center throughout her prep career, and has the size, at 6’2, to continue in that role into college.  

Webb Gymnasium in WBC’s Southerland-Mabee Center is a familiar place for Thompson. She has played and been voted to the Williams High School All-Tournament team in 2009, 2010, and 2011.  Her other honors include Miss Longhorn in 2011, All-State in 2011 and Lyon College All-Tournament team in 2011.

Thompson is the daughter of Mike and Lisa Thompson, both of Viola, Ark.

Williams is a four-year, liberal arts college at Walnut Ridge. The Eagles compete in the American Midwest Conference of the NAIA.
