Looney Crowned Miss Williams Baptist College

Walnut Ridge native Holly Looney was named the 2014 Miss Williams Baptist College in a ceremony held Monday, March 10. The freshman was crowned at the conclusion of the annual pageant, held on the Williams campus.
Besides winning the Miss WBC title, Looney also claimed the Talent Award. She is the daughter of David and Karen Looney of Walnut Ridge.
First runner-up was freshman Ashley Granderson of Pine Bluff, Ark. The biology major also took home the Jackie Burton Award of Excellence, which is given to the Miss WBC contestant with the highest combination of interview score and grade point average.
She is the daughter of Clint and Renee Granderson of Pine Bluff.
Second runner-up went to Sarah Hunt, who was also named Miss Congeniality. Hunt is a senior psychology major from Lepanto, Ark. She is the daughter of Cathy Hunt of Lepanto and the late James Hunt.

Callie Rew of North Little Rock was named the third-runner up. The freshman business administration major is the daughter of Bruce and September Rew of North Little Rock.
Allyson Smith, the 2013 Miss WBC and Walnut Ridge native, presented the winners their honors. The sophomore biology major is the daughter of Allen and Kim Smith of Walnut Ridge.
A total of seven contestants took part in the pageant, which was held in WBC’s Southerland-Mabee Center. Contestants were judged based on interview, talent and evening gown competition.
Williams is a four-year, liberal arts college at Walnut Ridge.
