Mission Thailand Underway
After a year of planning, 30 people are now making Mission Thailand 2012 a reality. The group made the lengthy flight to the Asian nation last week, and is spending this week doing a variety of mission projects.
They are working with Richard and Connie Cummins, who are missionaries in Thailand and former employees at Williams Baptist College. Mrs. Cummins also operates an orphanage in the couple’s home.
The team is teaching English to child care workers and others in Thailand, working with children and doing needed maintenance at the orphanage. They are in Chiang Mai, Thailand, a city with a population of around one million people. The group is also getting a chance to tour the area and experience its culture.
Mission Thailand is a joint project of Walnut Ridge First Baptist Church and WBC. The team will return to the US at the end of the week.
