National Library Week Kicks Off Monday


Williams Baptist College will celebrate National Library Week from Monday, April 8, through Monday, April 22.  All events will be held at the Felix Goodson Library on the Williams campus.

Studio for the Arts of Pocahontas will have various classes perform throughout the celebration.  There will be recitals Monday, April 8, at 4 p.m.; Wednesday, April 10, at 6 p.m.; and Thursday, April 11, at 5:30 p.m.

The Dance Tyme Cloggers from Jonesboro will also perform Monday, April 8, at 6 p.m.

Biblical dramatist Gary Brown will be at the library Tuesday, April 9, at 6:30 p.m.  The library’s secret celebrity will be announced with a “Big Reveal” on Wednesday, April 10, during WBC’s morning chapel service.

On Sunday, April 14, the documentary “Monumental” will be shown at 8 p.m.  The following day, there will be a domino-style book drop at 4:30 p.m.  Wednesday, April 17, people are encouraged to sharpen their paper folding skills, as there will be a paper airplane contest at 4:30 p.m.

At 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, Joel Olive, the library’s public services supervisor, can be seen in concert.

April 12 through April 22 the library will host its annual used book sale.  There will be free refreshments, book bags, FGL Champion trading cards and other prizes.  A schedule of library hours can be found at www.williamsbaptistcollege.com/library.

The public is invited to attend all events and there will be no charge to participate.
