Owiti Crowned Mr. WBC


David Owiti of Nyeri, Kenya, was named the 2013 Mr. Williams Baptist College on Friday, Feb. 8. Owiti was crowned at the conclusion of the Mr. WBC competition, held in the Southerland-Mabee Center on campus.  Owiti, a sophomore, is the son of Richard and Mercy Owiti of Nyeri. 

Nicholas Scarbrough of Batesville, Ark., was voted Mr. Congeniality by his fellow contestants.  Scarbrough, a freshman, is the son of David Scarbrough of Batesville and Tammie Scarbrough of Wilburn.

Trenton Neeley of Strawberry, Ark., was presented the talent award.  Neeley, a sophomore, is the son of Terral and Tina Neeley of Strawberry.

First runner-up was Jeff Morris of Bono, Ark., Morris, a sophomore, is the son of Larry and Tanya Morris of Bono.

Second runner-up was Brandt McDonald of Drasco, Ark., McDonald, a junior, is the son of Sherita and Daniel Johnson of Drasco and Patrick McDonald of Tumbling Shoals.

Third runner-up was Bobby Wheeler, Jr., of Marion, Ark., Wheeler, a senior, is the son of Bobby and Teresa Wheeler of Marion.

Nine contestants took part in the competition. The winner was crowned by 2010 Mr. WBC, Tylor Standley.
