Paterson Elected to National Society Board

8/2/2010

A national group of scientists has elected Dr. Ann Paterson to its board of directors. Paterson, who is the Nell Mondy Chair of Natural Sciences at Williams Baptist College, will serve a five-year term on the board of the American Society of Ichthyologists and Herpetologists.

The society, which has over 2,400 members, is dedicated to the scientific study of fishes, amphibians and reptiles. The ASIH works to increase knowledge of those animals and to encourage and support young scientists who will make future advances in those fields of study.

Paterson was elected to the board during the Joint Meetings of Ichthyologists and Herpetologists in Providence, R.I., July 7-12.

Paterson has served on the Williams faculty since 1999. She and her husband, Dr. Steve McMann, live at Walnut Ridge.
