The same Shell Field that was covered in snow last week was a sunny harbinger of spring on Monday, and the Eagles baseball season got a delayed start with a junior varsity game against Harding. Winter weather had postponed the season opener by over a week.
Between makeup games and regularly scheduled contests, the diamond Eagles are set to take the field for home games every day this week.
Following Monday’s JV affair, the Williams varsity squad opens Tuesday, hosting Lyon for a single, 9-inning game at 1:00 p.m.
Wednesday will feature a makeup doubleheader with Evangel starting at 12:30 p.m.
Thursday will bring Three Rivers into town for a 1:00 p.m. JV doubleheader.
Then, on Friday and Saturday the varsity Eagles will host Mid-Continent for a 3-game set. A single 9-inning game is set for Friday at 2:00 p.m., and a 12:00 noon double-header is scheduled Saturday.
