Pool Crowned Miss Williams Baptist College

A sophomore from Sherwood, Ark., is the new Miss Williams Baptist College. Lauren Pool was crowned at the conclusion of the 2012 Miss WBC pageant Friday evening on the Williams campus.

Besides winning the Miss WBC title, Pool won a host of other awards at the pageant, claiming the Talent Award, Miss Congeniality and the Jackie Burton Award of Excellence. The latter is given to the Miss WBC contestant with the highest combination of interview score and grade point average.

Pool is majoring in early childhood education at Williams. She is the daughter of Jim and Beth Pool of Sherwood.

First runner-up was Elizabeth Harmon of Jonesboro, Ark. Harmon, a junior majoring in music education, is the daughter of Mark and Krysha Harmon.

Second runner-up went to Kindalh Mayfield, a junior psychology major from Concord, Ark. She is the daughter of Tim and Marilyn Mayfield.

Third runner-up was Jameea Ward of Missouri City, Tex. Ward is a freshman biology major. She is the daughter of James Ward of Alvin, Tex., and Alexine Ward of Missouri City.

The winners were presented their honors by the 2011 Miss WBC, Samantha Linderman of Mammoth Spring, Ark. Linderman, a senior biology major, is the daughter of Terry and Sandra Linderman.

A total of 10 contestants took part in the pageant, which was held in WBC’s Southerland-Mabee Center. Contestants were judged based on interview, talent and evening gown competition.

Williams is a four-year, liberal arts college at Walnut Ridge.
