Sanders Fulfills Dream, Commits to Eagles


Zabian Sanders has signed his commitment to play basketball for the Williams Baptist College Eagles.  Sanders is a guard from Memphis, Tenn. 

Sanders is transferring to Williams from Dyersburg State Community College.  Sanders said, "It has always been my dream to play at the next level of basketball."  Also, Sanders expressed his appreciation for Coach Josh Austin, noting, "Coach Austin is one of the main reasons I committed to Williams."

Austin also spoke highly of Sanders. The coach believes Sanders is a good fit for the system he is installing.  He stated, "Sanders' scoring ability caught my eye the first time I watched him play."   Austin believes Sanders will have an important role on the Eagles' perimeter.

Sanders credits his cousin Jamal Arnold as an important mentor throughout his life.

Williams is a four-year, liberal arts college at Walnut Ridge. The Eagles compete in the American Midwest Conference of the NAIA.
