The baseball Eagles of Williams Baptist College have secured the services of Alex Skidmore. The pitcher from Pineville, Ark., recently inked his commitment with WBC.

"I am very excited and pleased to hear that the coaches at Williams are interested in me,"said Skidmore, a 2011 graduate of Calico Rock High School. "I am very thankful for this opportunity."

Andy Arnold, assistant baseball coach at Williams, noted, "He came to one of our tryouts and impressed us with a strong arm, speed and especially his size. Alex’s 6'3" frame is good to build on. We expect Alex will become even stronger and put on some weight after he has been with us for awhile."

Skidmore has a 3.8175 GPA that earned him the rank of fourth in his graduating class. Baseball honors include most stolen bases, three-time outstanding pitcher award, most RBI's, three-time all-conference player and all-state tournament team honors the past two consecutive years.

He is the son of Jerry and Kim Skidmore. His grandparents are Sue and Duane Price of Pineville, Ell Dee Sexton of Fayetteville and Robert and Marion Skidmore of Jordan, Ark.

Williams is 4-year, liberal arts college at Walnut Ridge. The Eagles compete in the American Midwest Conference of the NAIA.
