Softball Eagles Split With No. 25 McKendree
The WBC softball team earned a split at nationally ranked McKendree Wednesday in American Midwest Conference action. The Lady Eagles were edged in the first game of their doubleheader, 1-0, but came back to upset the Bearcats in the nightcap, 2-1.
Freshman Karisa Hendrix (4-3) went the distance pitching the second game, striking out three, walking four and giving up three hits. She allowed no earned runs.
Kim Emmons (4-2) was the hard luck loser in the first game, striking out seven while pitching the complete game. She allowed only four hits and one walk, with one unearned run.
Offensively, Jillian Graham paced Williams with a 3-for-6 afternoon, including a double. Felicia Woodard went 2-for-4 with a double, and Ashley Boyles was 2-for-5 with a triple.
McKendree is currently ranked 25th in the NAIA.
WBC (15-6, 2-2 AMC) plays at Missouri Baptist on Saturday, but returns home to face Hannibal-LaGrange for a doubleheader Monday at 2:00 p.m.
