Supper and Auction to Benefit Mission Thailand
A ham and bean supper and a silent auction will be held on Sunday, Jan. 29th, to help raise funds for Mission Thailand. The event begins at 6 p.m. in the Ministry Activity Center of Walnut Ridge First Baptist Church.
The supper will feature slow cooked ham and beans, along with homemade rolls and cornbread donated by Melody Fender of Chicken Shack Produce. Desserts and drinks will also be provided. There is no charge for the supper, and donations will be accepted.
The silent auction will feature about 50 items and services, some donated by area businesses and others by trip participants and members of First Baptist Church. Some services to be auctioned off include: babysitting by Pam and Anna Wilcoxson; a petting zoo birthday party by Ashley Harris and Hollie Yates; private basketball lessons by Alex Garmrath; a photo session by Aaron Abbott Photography; fly fishing lessons and a float trip by Phillip Tolson; and lawn cleaning service by Drew Flippo, Easton Householder and Drake Smith.
The supper and auction are open to the public, and everyone is encouraged to attend.
Some 30 participants in Mission Thailand will visit the Asian nation March 15-25. Final preparations are underway for the mission trip, and the group is currently raising funds for lodging, food and transportation while in Thailand.
Mission Thailand is a joint effort between First Baptist Church and Williams Baptist College.
