Three Lady Eagle Seniors Honored

The American Midwest Conference has announced the honorees for the 2011 AMC volleyball All-Conference Team. One member of the Williams Baptist College volleyball team is a recipient of first team All-Conference and two members were voted to the Honorable Mention All-Conference Team.
Williams senior middle hitter, Haley Motley (Bonne Terre, Mo.) was included on the 12 member first team. Motley finished the year with 281 kills. She also had a hitting average of 39 percent.
Senior outside hitter Caitlin Wakefield (Benton, Ark.) and senior libero Kelsey Davault (Farmington, Mo.) were voted to the Honorable Mention All-Conference team. Wakefield leads the country in total aces with 82. Davault totaled 589 digs on the season.
Coach Eric Newell said, “It is a tremendous honor that the AMC has selected three of our volleyball players to the All-Conference Team. All three are deserving candidates, and all three will be sorely missed next season.”
Motley, Wakefield, and Davualt also received Academic All-Conference honors. In addition three more student-athletes from WBC were honored with Academic All-Conference honors. Haleigh Lloyd (Jonesboro, Ark.), Katie Thomas (Mountain Home, Ark.), and Makenna Wiedower (Denton, Texas) made the team. The standard to receive this award is maintaining a 3.0 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale and have attended the college for at least one full year.
