Transfer Day is April 1
Williams Baptist College will hold a preview day for students interested in transferring from other institutions on Friday, April 1. Transfer Day is meant to provide information about Williams to prospective transfer students.
"We want the transition to be smooth for students who transfer from other institutions, and Transfer Day is a really good way to make that move an easy one. They get their questions answered about Williams and the transfer process," said Lisa Foley, transfer counselor in the Williams Office of Admissions.
As an additional incentive to attend, those taking part in Transfer Day and applying for admission to Williams on or before April 1 will be eligible to receive a scholarship worth $200 per semester. The scholarship is in addition to other academic scholarships a student may qualify to receive.
Foley noted that the preview day will help transfer students to find out about financial aid opportunities and to hear from the registrar about the transfer process. A campus tour and meeting with academic advisors is also planned, as well as a lunch provided by WBC.
Williams has Summit Agreements with a number of junior colleges in the region to help streamline the transfer process and provide students with additional financial aid options.
Colleges which have Summit Agreements with WBC include: Arkansas Northeastern College, Arkansas State University-Newport, Black River Technical College, Crowley's Ridge College, East Arkansas Community College, Ozarka College and University of Arkansas Community College in Batesville.
Students who plan to attend Transfer Day are asked to RSVP by Tuesday, March 29. To register or to get more information, contact Lisa Foley at (870) 759-4121 or (800) 729-4434, ext. 4121. She can be reached by e-mail at email@example.com.
