Tyus Named All-American


Kala Tyus, who led the Williams Baptist College women in scoring and rebounds this season, has been rewarded with All-American basketball honors by the NAIA. Tyus has been named an honorable mention selection on this year’s All-NAIA lineup.

Tyus, 5'11", is a junior forward from Maury City, Tenn. She paced the Lady Eagles in their 2010-11 campaign, averaging 13.4 points and 5.4 rebounds per game, and she hit 53 percent of her shots from the field. Tyus is the daughter of Donald and June Tyus of Maury City.

She is the second basketball player from Williams to earn All-American honors this season. Kyle Harvey, who plays for the WBC men, was also named an honorable mention All-NAIA selection.

Williams is a four-year, liberal arts college at Walnut Ridge.
