WBC Baseball & Softball Sweep Central Christian
The Williams Baptist College baseball and softball teams had successful home stands over the weekend, in both cases at the expense of Central Christian College. The baseball Eagles swept three games from the Kansas school, and the softball team won four.
The Williams baseball squad outlasted Central Christian Friday afternoon, 5-4, and then took both ends of a doubleheader on Saturday, winning the first game 4-3 and the nightcap 6-2.
The varsity Eagles move to 5-4 on the season. They play at home again on Friday and Saturday, when the host Clarke. Friday’s doubleheader starts at 1:00 p.m., and the first of Saturday’s two games begins at 12:00 p.m.
The softball Eagles also swept Central Christian, allowing only two runs over four games. On Friday, WBC won the first game, 8-0, and took the nightcap, 7-0. Williams continued to roll on Saturday, winning 9-1 and 13-1.
The Lady Eagles have an 8-2 season record. They play on the road this week, and return to WBC on Monday, March 8, to face Crowley’s Ridge at 1:30 p.m.
