WBC to Celebrate Black History Month

Williams Baptist College has several events scheduled for the month of February in honor of Black History Month. Activities will kick off Monday, Feb. 4, in the Eagle Coffeehouse & Grill, located in the Mabee Student Center, with a 9:30 p.m. viewing of the movie The Help.
The public is invited to a free concert in Manley Chapel on Tuesday, Feb. 5. The KIPP Blytheville College Preparatory School Choir from Blytheville, Ark., and the KIPP Delta Collegiate High School Choir from Helena-West Helena, Ark., will perform. The concert begins at 6:30 p.m.
Black History Month activities will conclude on Tuesday, Feb. 19. Mabee-Gwinup Cafeteria will host a "Soul Food Night," and later that night students can participate in a poetry slam and jam in the Eagle Coffeehouse & Grill. Current and former WBC students will honor Black history creatively through spoken word, skits, artwork and various other outlets. The open-mic night begins at 6:30 p.m.
