Williams Classes Begin Wednesday

The Williams Baptist College campus has come to life, with students moving into residence hall in preparation for the start of fall semester classes Wednesday, Aug. 29. Opening convocation will also be held Wednesday, with Dr. Tom Jones, WBC’s new president, delivering the convocation address.

Freshmen moved into the residence halls and began orientation on Saturday. The orientation program, known as Ascend, helps new students get acclimated to their college home.

The newcomers fanned out across the community Monday for Freshmen Service Day projects, doing community service work at such locations as Stewart Park, Guitar Walk at Cavenaugh Park, Lawrence County Exceptional School and other facilities.

Students will officially register for fall semester classes Tuesday.
