Williams Men Lose at CBC
by Caleb Livington
The Williams Baptist College men took on Central Baptist College in Conway, Ark., Tuesday night and came away with a tough road loss, 73-61.
The Eagles started off slowly as they fell behind 9-0 to the Mustangs early in the first half. WBC had a hard time containing CBC junior guard Tommy Williams, who exploded for six three-pointers on his way to 20 first half points.
WBC never recovered from the slow start, as they fell behind by 23 on two occasions in the first half. The Eagles made a small run at the Mustangs to cut the lead to 13 but could never get over the hump, and the closest they would get the rest of the night was the final score, 73-61.
Kyle Harvey led WBC with 21 points and nine rebounds. Fellow sophomore Wes Livingston had 15 points and seven rebounds, while Logan Chappell chipped in nine points on the evening.
Williams returns to action Thursday night, traveling to Ecclesia College.
The Eagles’ next home game will be Thursday, Nov. 11, when they host Lyon at 7:30 p.m.
