Nearly 20 business students and faculty members from Williams Baptist College spent the day recently assisting the Rice Depot charity in Little Rock. The WBC chapter of Phi Beta Lambda, a society for business students, delivered items they had collected previously and then helped pack a large shipment of bread for the needy.
The Williams PBL chapter conducted a diaper drive in Jonesboro in October, collecting 1,620 diapers and 5,572 wipes over an eight-hour period.
The club delivered the diapers and wipes to Rice Depot on November 29 and then assisted in packing 1,264 boxes with loaves of bread. The bread was enough to make 75,800 sandwiches.
A total of 16 students made the trip, along with Summer DeProw and Heather Parson of the Williams business faculty and Tonya Bolton, WBC’s registrar.
