Williams Readies for New School Year
Summer vacation is rapidly drawing to a close for Williams Baptist College students. The new school year officially begins with the first day of classes on Sept. 1, and activities on campus will begin ramping up before then.
"This is a very exciting time for us. We are here because we love to work with students, so we are anxious to see them arrive," said Dean of Students Susan Watson. "Our residence halls are getting ready and our activities are set for a new year."
Athletes for WBC’s fall sports, men’s soccer and women’s volleyball, begin their pre-season training Aug. 16. Both teams will open their seasons before the start of the school year. The volleyball Eagles begin with an exhibition match at Mineral Area College in Missouri on Aug. 24, and the soccer team opens with an exhibition at Rend Lake College in Illinois on Aug. 23.
The Williams cheerleaders will also get a head start by holding a pre-season camp, and students who serve on the residence hall staff will arrive early for training, as well.
Registration is set for Tuesday, Aug. 31, which is the day before classes begin. Opening convocation will be held Sept. 1 at 11:00 a.m. in Manley Chapel.
