Williams Set for New School Year
The countdown toward a new school year is underway at Williams Baptist College. Activity is steadily increasing at the four-year, liberal arts college at Walnut Ridge, leading up to the first day of fall semester classes on Wednesday, August 29.
"The students are the reason for all that we do at Williams, so it is very exciting to see them make their way back to campus," said Dr. Tom Jones, WBC’s president. "The anticipation is building for the new school year, and we are ready to get it underway."
Volleyball and soccer players have arrived at WBC for their pre-season practices. Both squads begin their 2012 seasons this month.
Residence hall staff will arrive next week for training, and other student workers will start preparations for a wide range of activities associated with the new school year.
Freshmen move into the residence halls and begin orientation on Saturday, August 25. Registration for the fall semester will take place on Tuesday, August 28, and opening convocation will be held on the first day of classes, August 29.
"Our people have done an incredible job, as always, of getting the campus and facilities into shape for the fall semester," said Dean of Students Susan Watson. "Everything will be in place for the students to arrive and start a great new school year."
