Work Begins on New Residence Hall
Work has commenced on a new women’s residence hall at Williams Baptist College. Workers for Clark General Contractors in Walnut Ridge, which is building the facility, began site preparation last week.
The residence hall, which will be just over 9,800 square feet, is to house 43 female students. It is expected to cost $1.75 million, and it is scheduled to be completed before the start of fall semester in August.
The new building was designed by Brackett-Krennerich & Associates Architects of Jonesboro.
Enrollment surged at WBC’s Walnut Ridge campus last fall, and the dorm population jumped 13 percent, leaving the four-year, liberal arts college near capacity on its student housing.
