Students from the Walnut Ridge High School Key Club volunteered on the Williams Baptist College campus last Thursday, June 26.

The WRHS Key Club, led by sponsor Jerry Haynes, unpacked and sorted seventy-two boxes of chairs, set up multiple tables and cleared away trash in preparation for the opening of WBC’s renovated Mabee-Gwinup Cafeteria.

“The WRHS Key Club was a great help to us as we prepare to open the cafeteria in mid-August,” said Dale Leatherman, vice president for business affairs at Williams.  “We appreciate the time they took out of their summer vacation schedule to assist us.”

The Key Club is a high school volunteer service organization and is the student arm of Kiwanis International.

The Williams cafeteria expansion and renovation will more than double the size of its student dining area.  The project is nearing completion at a cost of close to $1 million.
