Youth Ministry Days Continue Wednesday

Noted student ministry specialist Dr. Scott Stevens will be the featured speaker during the annual Youth Ministry Days at Williams Baptist College. The event, which is aimed at student ministers and others who lead youth in churches, began March 27 and continues Wedesday, March 28.

Stevens was most recently the director of student ministry work at LifeWay Christian Resources, and he taught student ministry at Howard Paine University in Texas. He also has extensive personal experience in student ministry and is himself the parent of teens.

"We are asking, ‘What keeps teens in the faith after they become young adults?’" said Dr. Walter Norvell of the WBC Christian ministries faculty, who coordinates Youth Ministry Days. "The answers to that question are few, but the answers show us the need for developing strategic ministry with teens which includes them in significant ways in the church. Our emphasis this year is to consider how to be strategic in youth ministry."

A series of four sessions will be held on Wednesday, March 28th, starting at 8:00 a.m., in the Moody Room of WBC's Mabee-Gwinup Cafeteria. Those sessions will last 50 minutes each and will explore in depth issues and challenges relating to student ministry.

The public is invited to all sessions, and there is no charge to attend. Lunch will be provided to all off-campus guests on March 28th, but a courtesy RSVP is requested for an accurate lunch count. For more information or to RSVP, contact Walter Norvell at (870) 759-4150 or wnorvell@wbcoll.edu.
