COMMUNICATION ARTS PROGRAM
The study of speech communications and the celebration of great orators and theater artists dates back to ancient Greece. Williams offers a minor in Communication Arts and a Communication Arts concentration block in the Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts. Students completing this study will have a command of communication skills, including organization, language usage, audience analysis, and effective delivery, and will have studied theater history, plays, playwrights, and production techniques.
To earn a minor in Communication Arts, Williams students must complete 21 hours from one of the following emphasis areas:
Journalism Emphasis - Encompasses studies in basic news writing, reporting, systems of grammar, and advanced composition.
Speech and Theatre Emphasis - Encompasses studies in voice and diction, oral interpretation, modern drama or studies in Shakespeare.
