English Faculty Position


Williams Baptist College invites applications for a tenure-track position in English. The position will begin with the fall semester, 2018. The English Department offers both a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science in English Education degree.

A doctorate is required.

Duties will include teaching Composition I and II, World Literature I and II classes, as well as upper-level courses in both English and American literature. In addition, advising students, performing faculty committee and departmental assignments, participating in college-wide activities, co-sponsoring Sigma Tau Delta, the English honor society, and professional and scholarly engagement are essential elements of the position

The salary and rank will be commensurate with educational preparation and experience. Retirement, group life and health insurance, and on-campus faculty housing are available.

Founded in 1941, Williams is an evangelical Christian liberal arts college and is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). It will become Williams Baptist University in July of 2018. Williams is located in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, and has an enrollment of 500 students.
