Williams Baptist College seeks qualified applicants for the position of Director of Police & Campus Safety. The Director of Police and Campus Safety is a highly visible position working on multiple levels to assure the safest environment on campus for all individuals. The director supervises and trains regular, student safety and reserve officers and reports to the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Services. An associate's degree is required, and a bachelor's degree is preferred. Law enforcement experience and certification required.

Essential Functions

  • Directing a campus wide safety program and education the campus community about safety issues.
  • Serving as a liaison between campus and the local law enforcement community;
  • Attending safety meetings and weekly staff meetings.
  • Understanding electronic surveillance and monitoring equipment and its use on campus;
  • Maintaining daily logs and securing campus buildings.
  • Assisting with weather related education and emergencies.
  • Enforcing campus safety policies and managing campus emergency response plan.
  • Enforcement of state, federal, and local laws/ordinances along with enforcement of all campus safety policies, campus rules, and campus regulations.


  • Associate's degree required, bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Must have experience in law enforcement.
  • Must be a certified law enforcement officer through the State of Arkansas under applicable Arkansas Statutes 12-9-106 and/or 12-20-201 and in good standing through the Arkansas Commission of Law Enforcement Standards and Training (CLEST) rules, regulations, and specifications.
  • Must be committed to the College's values and mission.
  • Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) training in the National Incident Management System and Incident Command System ICS-100 preferred.

It will become Williams Baptist University in the summer of 2018.  Williams is located in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, and has an average enrollment of 500 students.
